Section 1 - Contracts of Employment
This section looks at the different types of employment relationships that exist (permanent, fixed-term, temporary, and so on). It also covers the Employment Contract, what this means and what it should contain.

Section 2 – The Regulatory Framework
This section will give you an overview of the regulatory framework, in other words, of the various pieces of legislation that govern activity in the employment area. It will also introduce you to the various institutions which are involved in regulating the employment relationship, describing who they are and what they do.

Section 3 – Health & Safety
This section introduces you to the key employer and employee responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety. It also covers bullying in the workplace.

Section 4 – Discrimination & Equality
This Section looks at the law with regard to discrimination and equality. It also covers the areas of harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Section 5 – Employment Rights
Employees in Ireland are entitled to receive certain basic employment rights. This Section looks at these rights in the areas of Working Time, Holidays and Leave, Pay and Records and Data Protection.

Section 6 – The End of the Employment Relationship
The aim of this Section is to equip you with the skills, tools and legal understanding to achieve best practice in managing the ending of the employment relationship and exit from employment. This Section covers unfair dismissal, disciplinary procedures and redundancy.

Section 7 – Collective Employment Law
Collective employment law is all about the relationship between employees, employers and employee representative groups, such as Trade Unions. This Section covers Trade Unions, industrial action, industrial relations and collective bargaining, along with a focus on the work of the Labour Court.
