Building a High Performance Team (Elective Course)

Teams are the foundation on which successful businesses in the tourism industry are built. Building a team and successfully leading a team are two of the key skills that supervisors and managers at any level of an organisation require.

This programme will ensure managers and supervisors acquire the knowledge and develop the skills they require to lead their teams to success through the crucial summer tourism season ahead.

General Course Aims: 

By the end of the programme, participants will:

» Understand and define for their business the nature of a successful team
» Have a framework for understanding team performance and develop strategies for leading their team through each stage
» Be able to tackle and/or prevent the formation of dysfunctions within a team
» Develop leadership and motivational ability
» Develop ways to measure their team’s success
» Develop a plan that identifies key gaps, priorities and actions for building an effective team

In order to meet the requirements for accreditation, particpants will be required to submit two Assignments and a Project. The due date for all assessments to be submitted is 1 July 2011.

This is Level 6, FETAC minor award (Team Leadership - L31837) and a component of the Major Award Advanced Certificate in Management (BMANX).
