Understanding Customers for Business Development (Elective)

This course is designed to enable managers, team leaders and supervisors to identify new customer markets, to better meet existing customer needs and to increase customer satisfaction and spend through application of an effective Customer Service Management strategy.

The course aims to develop among participants the know-how to research new customer markets, assess customer needs, evaluate satisfaction levels and engage staff to contribute to and continuously improve service and quality.

General Course Aims: 
  • Understand new customer opportunities and develop individual strategies to make progress
  • Understand key marketing principles and be able to develop communication plans to attract new customers
  • Select appropriate market entry strategies for new markets – either in Ireland or overseas
  • Communicate persuasively in a commercial situation
  • Develop and manage accounts
  • In order to meet the requirements for accreditation, particpants will be required to submit an two Assignments and carry out a Skills Demonstration. The due date for all assessments to be submitted is 11 May 2011.

    This is Level 6, FETAC minor award (Business Development - B30204) and a component of the Major Award Advanced Certificate in Management (BMANX).
